A 24-year-old man living at a hotel on the 1000 block of U.S. 431 in Anniston reportedly was robbed Friday on his way to a soda machine.
The man had just left his room around 7:15 p.m. when two armed men approached him, Anniston police said.
One of the thieves pointed a handgun at him while the other went through his pockets and took money and other items, investigators said.
The thieves then fled on foot, police said.
No injuries were reported, and no arrests had been made as of Monday afternoon.
